Frag eXecutors eliminate fnatic

Frag eXecutors have eliminated fnatic from the 2011 Intel Extreme Masters World Final. Fx were able to take de_dust2 16-13 and de_nuke 16-10.

The match started off on de_dust2 with fnatic as terrorists who made a move into the B site, but despite planting the bomb, Fx were able to retake the site and secured the lead, with Jakub "kuben" Gurczyński picking up four frags. The next four rounds went to the Polish team as well, as each gun round lost by fnatic forced the Swedes to save some money.

Losing their first round made Fx change their strategy and go for two AWPers, and move paid off as the Polish side added two more rounds to their tally. The score was now 7-1, and fnatic were urgently in the need for some rounds, and they got three in a row to even things out a little bit. Fx responded to get their eighth and ninth rounds. The last two pieces of the cake went to fnatic though, but still Fx led the game 9-6 at the half.

In the second half, the Polish went for a B push in the pistol round and was promptly stopped by fnatic, who went on to win two more rounds to equalize the match on 9 rounds. Fx then regained the lead, but fnatic won three rounds in a row to be up 13-10. With fnatic getting close to a dangerous situation, Fx decided to call a timeout and after that they just picked up the pace, turning the score around to win the map 16-13 with some good final rounds by Filip "Neo" Kubski.

The second map would be de_nuke, known as a strong map for Frag eXecutors and limited AWP action for fnatic. Fnatic took the knife round and would start as the counter-terrorists. Fnatic took the pistol and then some crazy rounds followed as both teams constantly eco'd each other. The game eventually settled down with Fnatic coming out ahead 4-1. The next eight rounds went back and forward tying up the game at 7-7. Fnatic were able to salvage the final round and took the half 8-7 on the more favoured counter-terrorist half.

The second half saw some amazing play by Neo once again who was able to ace Fnatic from the ramp room. Fx used this momentum to build a lead and at one stage were 11-8 up.  The next few rounds were exchanged with Fx once again coming out on top and controlling the money system. Frag eXecutors eventually closed out the match winning 16-10.

Fx will now face SK-Gaming tomorrow in the Semi-finals.
