Another two groups conclude at DreamHack Winter, as Groups C and D reach the end.
In Group C there was not really any doubt in SK Gaming taking the top spot. The Swedish giants marched on to the playoffs with maximum points. For the second place, Portuguese k1ck managed to make it through. It was however not a safe way, losing to SK and tying against NecroRaisers, the match against darkside would determine their faith, being down 3-15 it did not look good for k1ck. But with a turnover to 15-15, adding the second tie to their group-stage record, k1ck advance with a better round-score than NecroRaisers and darkside.
In Group D it was the match between Coldfrag and mTw that had all the attention. The Swedes won a 16-14 match against WCG 2009 bronze-medalists, to claim top spot. This was bad luck for mTw, as they are not on to face SK Gaming in the round of sixteen.
Groups E and F will be entering the tournament soon, seeing a kill opening match in Group E, featuring Begrip taking on compLexity. In Group F we in the second round see a killer-match, when fnatic takes on Spirit of Amiga. We are now half-way through the group stage, four down, four groups to go.
Stay tuned for more updates from DreamHack Winter.
